All In: Building God’s Kingdom – Week 5: Outside Battles to Inside Struggles
David Yarborough

In the story of Nehemiah, we find a powerful example of how vision can transform brokenness into purpose. Nehemiah’s heart was broken for the disrepair of Jerusalem’s walls, and through this brokenness, God gave him a vision to rebuild. This vision was not just about physical restoration but about creating a place where God’s presence could dwell among His people.

As Christians, we are called to have a vision for our lives and communities. Vision is the ability to see what could be and should be, even when faced with brokenness. It is a divine calling that compels us to act, to step into the mess, and work towards God’s purpose.

The sermon reminds us that vision often comes from a place of brokenness. When the needs around us move our hearts, we are prompted to seek God’s guidance and take action. This is a partnership between us and God—He provides the vision, and we are His hands and feet to bring it to fruition.

In our personal lives, this might mean having a vision for a godly marriage, raising children who honor Jesus, or holding onto integrity as a single person. As a church, our vision is to exalt Jesus and be a people and place of His presence. We are called to create environments where people can encounter Jesus and experience transformation.

Let us embrace the vision God has placed in our hearts. Let us be a community that values presence over performance, seeking to encounter Jesus in every aspect of our lives. As we step into the brokenness around us, may we lift up the name of Jesus and bring His kingdom to earth as it is in heaven.
